Missed Appointments and Cancellations
Please keep in mind, a cancelled appointment hurts three people: you, your therapist, and another client who could have potentially used your time slot. I make a time commitment to you and hold your appointment time exclusively for you. When a session is cancelled without adequate notice, I am unable to fill this time slot by offering it to another client. Please understand a late cancellation fee is not intended to punish. Rather, it is necessary in order to run and maintain this practice so I can continue to offer others the help they need.
ALL cancellations and rescheduled sessions will be subject to an out-of-pocket charge for the full session amount if notice of cancellation or a rescheduling request is NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE. Monday appointments must be canceled by noon on the Friday prior to your appointment. This time frame is firm.

The only exception to this cancellation policy is in the event of a serious illness, injury or other emergency. I offer one “grace” for these purposes every six months. Some examples of emergencies are car accidents, deaths in the family or extreme illness requiring hospitalization. PLEASE NOTE: Work issues, inclimate weather, other conflicting appointments, or childcare needs do not constitute emergencies. Additionally, minor maladies that do not require a doctor’s treatment do not fall under this exception.

Therapy is an investment in your health and should be viewed as any other important appointment. While it is a time commitment, you are choosing this path for your personal wellbeing. Consistency is key to accomplish this.
